A new Google feature to help spark new messaging ideas is coming on April 29th, 2018. The Purpose of this new Adwords feature is to help save time and effort in ad text creation. For the longest time, Google has been encouraging digital marketing specialists to test 3 ads per ad group. Google recently released research that has shown that ad groups with 3 or more relevant ads can drive 5% to 15% more clicks and conversions.
One of the stumbling blocks that PPC managers run into is figuring out what to test. To help improve this, Google is rolling out a new feature called Ad Suggestions. Ad Suggestions are produced by a combination of machine learning and human review to help create high-quality ad suggestions. Ad Suggestions will be displayed in the Adwords account on the recommendations page.
Once available, the ad suggestions can be reviewed, edited, dismissed, and applied as needed. There is also an option to auto-apply the suggestions. This means that the suggested ads will be automatically applied and will serve after 14 days if no action is taken. This new feature also provides digital marketing companies with free optimization. Most PPC consultants will be happy to have this new option. While it will still require the manager to review messaging prior to going live, it could take some of the heavy lifting off the shoulders and allow digital marketers to focus on other activities in the account. Google recommends that advertisers be on the look out for the ad suggestions and to start testing and measuring the performance.
